PETALING JAYA: The sex video implicating Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim surfaced on YouTube, but was removed close to midnight.

The one-minute and 47-second clip was uploaded on YouTube on Sunday and was also discovered on Facebook yesterday.

A notice on YouTube at about 11.35pm yesterday stated that the video “was removed as a violation of YouTube's policy on nudity or sexual content”.

Media editors who had viewed the 22-minute video on March 21 confirmed that the footage was the same.

Since then, three men have claimed responsibility for the screening of the sex video.

Calling themselves Datuk T, the three were former Malacca chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik, businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Perkasa treasurer Datuk Shuaib Lazim. Eskay admitted to the media then that he was also in the video.

In his reaction from Sibu yesterday, Anwar was quoted by an online portal as saying: “Now, the video has been distributed. And whether the person looks like me or not, I don't care. It wasn't me.”

Anwar has already lodged a police report stating that he is not the man in the video.

The clip does not show any sex act as it is only the beginning of the original 22-minute recording, and did not have a time stamp.

It shows a man clad in a towel walking around in a room in the presence of another man dressed in slacks and a short-sleeved shirt. A woman with Chinese features, who was wearing a tube dress when sitting on the bed, went into the bathroom and emerged only in a towel.

The camera is located on what looks like a dressing table. It has an unobstructed view of the bed.

The face of the towel-clad, pudgy-looking man in short hair can be seen several times.

He, however, does not stand in place long enough for his face to be clearly identified.

The video was also posted on a pro-Umno blog at 4.33pm yesterday. However, the clip was found to have been removed.

The blogger, Papagomo, has promised to reveal other sections of the video soon.

A sentence in Thai language could be seen across the screen, raising speculation that the video was uploaded in Thailand.

Umum mengetahui bahawa Topeng Perak adalah blogger pembangkang yang telah ditaja oleh Datuk Husam Musa. Datuk Husam Musa ni ialah tali barut Anwar dalam PAS. Tak tahu apa yang dia telah buat dengan hasil kayu kayan negeri Kelantan. Nescaya, boleh muflis Kelantan.

Baru-baru ini, Topeng Perak telah tertangkap sedang asik berfoya-foya dengan dua orang pelacur warga China.

Wah! Banyaknya duit dia sehingga dapat menempah dua ayam sekali gus.....

Badan kurus dan rambut panjang. Begitulah rupa Topeng Perak. Langsung tak hensem. Puek!!!!!

Patut la dia guna nama Topeng Perak sebab nak menyembunyikan rupa dia yang sebenarnya. Jangan macam-macam kat negeri aku kau Topeng Perak.

Petang semalam sejurus sampai di Kuching Sarawak Gomo di sambut oleh Exco Pemuda PRS Bit Surang yang kemudiannya membawa kami ke Ibu Pejabat PRS bagi menemubual Presiden Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Dato Seri Dr James Masing mengenai isu Larry Sng yang telah di buang dari parti pada tahun 2007 atas masaalah dalaman parti.Dalam sesi temubual itu juga turut sama hadir adalah 8 lagi calon Barisan Nasional yang akan bertanding pada PRN Sarawak kali ini.

Menurut Dato Seri Dr James Jemut Masing, Larry Sng tidak tersenarai dalam senarai calon PRS yang akan bertanding pada Pilihan Raya Negeri (PRN) Sarawak ke-10 pada 16 April ini.Beliau berkata parti itu telah pun mengenal pasti muka baru bagi mempertahankan kerusi Pelagus yang pernah diwakili Sng semenjak 2001.

Larry Sng bukan lagi ahli PRS dan tidak boleh di calonkan bukan ahli parti untuk bertanding dan Larry Sng tidak berada dalam senarai calon kali ini. Ada besar Kemungkinan beliau bertanding dalam senarai orang (parti) lain.

KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak(PRS) president Dato Sri Dr James Masing has described Pelagus incumbent Larry Sng’s omission from the Barisan Nasional (BN) final list of candidates as his own undoing.

“I wanted to save him by appointing him the Information Chief of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) in 2006. In fact, PRS supreme council members wanted me to sack him but I said no. He did not accept my proposal at that time,” he said when met.

Masing, who is also Baleh incumbent, said Sng’s loyalty should be shown inside the party instead of wanting to topple the PRS leadership.

“In politics, you have to be honest to yourself and the party. This is the price that you have to pay. He was not listening to advice at that time and turned against me,” he added.

Sng’s name was not in the BN final list announced by Special Advisor in the Chief Minister’s Office, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem at Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters at Jalan Bako yesterday.

PRS instead has fielded new candidate Stanley Nyitar, a 58-year old former Sarawak Energy manager, to replace Sng in Pelagus constituency.

Sng was sacked from the party following an illegal 2006 PRS triennial delegates conference (TDC) held by him.

The announcement of BN’s list of candidates has finally ended speculation that Sng would either contest on Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) ticket in Meradong or as Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) candidate in Meluan.

When asked to comment on the new candidate Stanley Nyitar, Masing said he is the right candidate for Pelagus.

“He is the best that PRS can offer to the people of Pelagus and we have never lost in Pelagus,” Masing added.

When asked to comment on whether Sng will stand as an independent candidate while at the same time supporting Barisan Nasional, Masing said the chance for Sng to gain victory is very slim if not none.

Masing pointed out that if Sng were to stand as an independent, his fate may follow the footsteps of his father Datuk Sng Chee Hua who once lost in Pelagus as an independent candidate.

He added that the senior Sng only won the seat when he contested under the now-defunct Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS).

Masing said PRS would support Sng in whichever seat he may contest as long as he remains loyal to BN.

“But he is not in PRS list, that is for sure,” he said.

Efforts to contact Sng for his immediate comments were in vain yesterday as he was believed to have switched off his phone.

Calls went straight to the mailbox while text messages were unanswered.

Sng had made headlines in 2001 when he became the youngest state assemblyman after winning the Pelagus seat at the age of 22.

He was also an assistant minister with three portfolios despite being partyless.

KUCHING:  A total of 18 new faces have been confirmed to be among the 71 BN candidates picked by the top BN leadership to contest in the upcoming 10th state election while the candidate for Ba Kelalan has yet to be confirmed .

Satem announced the BN candidates’ list after a closed door meeting which started at 4pm at the PBB headquarters here yesterday.

Among the 18 new faces, 10 are from PBB, seven from SUPP and one from PRS while SPDP has yet to decide its candidate for Ba Kelalan.

The 10 PBB new faces are Dr Hazland Abang Hipni for Demak Laut, Maclaine Ben @ Martin Ben (Kedup), Aidel Lariwoo (Sadong Jaya), Razaili Gapor (Beting Maro), Ricky @ Mohd Razi Sitam (Saribas), Datu Talif @ Len Talif Salleh (Belawai), Abdullah Saidol (Semop), Dr Annuar Rapa’ee (Nangka), Ripin Lamat (Lambir) and Dennis Ngau (Telang Usan).

Leading SUPP’s new faces are well-known cardiologist Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian for Pending, Sim Kiang Chiok (Padungan), Youth chief Sih Hua Tong (Batu Lintang), Ling Kie King (Maradong), Chieng Buong Toon (Bukit Assek), Lanang MP Datuk Tiong Thai Ling (Dudong) and Ling Kuong Meng (Kidurong).

For PRS, a surprise package in the person of Stanley Nyitar @ Unja Malang, a former Sesco manager for Kapit has been nominated to replace Larry Sng, who has been dropped from the line-up.

As for SPDP, Adenan made a surprise announcement that the BN top leadership has not named a candidate for its Ba Kelalan seat.

He said the BN top leadership would announce the name before  nomination day on April 6.

“His name will be announced soon. The BN top leadership will make the announcement before the nomination day,” said Adenan.

Present at the press conference were PBB deputy presidents Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Alfred Jabu and Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, SUPP president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam, PRS president Dato Sri Dr James Masing, PBB senior vicepresident Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan and PBB secretary-general Dr Stephen Rundi Utom.

When asked whether Datuk Seri Idris Jala could be the ‘mystery’ candidate, Adenan and the other BN top leaders present laughed off such possibility but described it as merely a possible speculation.

The only PBB top gun who was dropped at the last minute is the State Legislative Assembly Speaker Dato Sri Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar, who has been replaced by a newcomer in Semop.

Another surprise in the PBB’s camp was the last minute re-inclusion of Lingga’s incumbent Simoi Peri who had earlier announced her intention to retire from active politics.

In SUPP’s camp, a recycled candidate Datuk Alfred Yap has been nominated for Kota Sentosa to wrest the seat from his arch-rival Chong Cheng Jen, who defeated him in the last state election held in 2006.

Another recycled candidate is Alexander Vincent of PRS who will again be fielded in Ngemah despite losing there also in 2006.

“These are the best candidates we can offer to ensure the BN continue to lead the state,” added Adenan.

He said the BN line-up comprised new and experienced leaders to ensure continuity in the BN.

The age of the BN candidates range from 38 years old to 75.

BN’s youngest candidate is Mohd Razi, a former teacher and journalist and the oldest is Taib.

Earlier, Jabu said the meeting chaired by Chief Minister and State BN chairman Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud went smoothly for the four state BN component parties.

The meeting was also attended by all the BN candidates.

However, Taib was not present at the press conference.
